Hop aboard the Northern Central Railway Butterfly Express with the York County Master Gardeners for a family-friendly ride and learn all about butterflies! On this 3-hour experience, passengers will learn about the life stages of butterflies, why they are so important and how to include butterfly host plants to create a butterfly habitat at home. Children will color a butterfly craft that can “fly” with them on the train to the butterfly garden at Hanover Junction Station as Master Gardeners read a story during the train ride. Passengers can tour the Master Gardener butterfly garden and take part in activity stations at the garden. Each passenger is invited to take a butterfly host plant home with them to care for.
