Father’s Day Picnic to Hanover Junction – 11:00 AM

Take Dad for a special picnic lunch in Hanover Junction! Our historic PRR GP9 Diesel Locomotive built in 1959 will take you back in time to the 1860s when President Abraham Lincoln rode these tracks on his way to Gettysburg to deliver the Gettysburg Address. Bring your own picnic lunch to enjoy or pre-order a boxed lunch from the New Freedom Roasting Company & Deli. During the 1 ½ hour layover, enjoy your lunch, play outdoor games, and explore the Hanover Junction Museum. Entertainment will be provided by the Susquehanna Travellers. Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs, and blankets!
Pre-order your picnic by 10:00 AM with New Freedom Roasting Company & Deli. For delivery options select Pick Up, Hanover Junction June 20th – 12:00 PM. A limited quantity of lunches will be available to purchase on-site in Hanover Junction.
Tickets: $33 Adult; $15 Child (age 3-12); $5 Toddler (in lap)
(Wheelchair lift is not available at Hanover Junction; passengers who wish to exit the train must be able to climb up and down 6 steps without crew assistance.)
The coaches are pushed and pulled by our vintage diesel locomotive.
This excursion is 3 ½ hours.
Tickets will be printed and available for pick up at the ticket booth on the day of the excursion.
Please arrive 30 minutes prior to boarding.

Face coverings are to be worn while on our property, in our gift shop, and on the train. If you are fully vaccinated, a face mask is not required. A mask will be provided if you do not have one.
Please reschedule your excursion if you recently tested positive for COVID-19, have been exposed, or are exhibiting symptoms.
Train coaches, gift shop, ticket area, restrooms, and all other public spaces are cleaned and sanitized before each train excursion following CDC guidelines.
Hand sanitizing stations are available at the ticket area, in the gift shop, and in restrooms.
