In September 2024, NCR added a second diesel engine to our rolling stock to support the growing demands of our expanded ridership. This General Electric 80-ton engine was remanufactured for the US Army in 1991. Used at the Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, PA, the engine retired from regular service in 2013. This center cab design brings a new experience and added reliability to the NCR rolling stock. Don’t be confused by the appearance, as the engine toots a steam whistle.
